Ted Pettingell

Picture
Ted is a stand up comic and he does not have AIDS (he doesn't mean to brag). He has been described as creepy, odd, suicidal, aspiring serial killer, human being: poor example of,all of which are things Ted certainly is not. A much better description would be a fresh young talent with an original voice who has a passion for comedy. But enough about that, he is so much more than that. Ted is the greatest man I have ever met. Women will tell you he has a pretty face and a scent to match. He once defeated a full grown Polar Bear in an arm wrestling match. A Nobel Prize winner in the field of Awesome he ceartainly knows how to have a good time. All and all you would be a fool not to want to hang out with him, unfortunately most never get a chance to fit in to his busy lifestyle. Those lucky few who do have their lives changed forever in profound ways they never thought possible... Could you be one of them?

Tim Vargulish

Picture
Tim Vargulish started doing stand up comedy in 2006. He quickly started performing all over the country but mostly Boston. His quirky style and irreverent regard for whether the audience was laughing garnered him respect in his mind. Besides stand up he has conquered the worlds of improv, sketch, and watermelon smashing comedy. Other than stand up he loves comic books, video games, and hopes to one day have a girlfriend to watch him do those things.

Gary Petersen

Picture
Gary Petersen is without a doubt one of the rising stars of Boston comedy. Coming like a bat out of hell onto the scene, after only 4 years in Boston this young comic has established his reputation as a strong writer and exciting performer. His unique brand of comedy draws in crowds, guiding them through the ridiculousness of life, highlighting the humor in ordinary situations and imagining even funnier ones.

Matt Donaher

Picture
Matt D. started writing at a very early age, mostly just scribbles and his name. He continued to develop this craft and wrote short stories, tiny plays, and mini-books while in school in New Hampshire. Now he is writing jokes for you to hear at shows all over the East Coast or via echo if he plays near a canyon or cave.

Although he was called many names in high school, the Boston Globe is now referring to him as a ‘promising new comic’. Mottley’s Comedy Club is saying he’s ‘one of the best young joke writers in Boston.’ He was a finalist in the 2009 Giggles Laugh Riots Contest, was picked to perform in the Alternative Alternative Showcase at the 2009 Boston Comedy Festival, is a regular on the Rooftop Comedy front page, and in 2010 was voted both funniest comedian in Manchester, NH as well as overall Funniest Comedian in New Hampshire. Matt is a regular at the Comedy Studio in Cambridge, MA where he will be Comic in Residence in 2010.

Matt tells 10's of 20's of jokes during a set, so he is a very smart choice economically during these trying times. Matt's style is very quick, especially if you are very slow. You may need someone to explain the jokes to you, but please, not during the show.

Maria Ciampa

Picture
Twice nominated best standup comedian by Boston Phoenix, Punchline Magazine called Maria a "refreshing voice".   Maria co-directs the Boston Women in Comedy Festival, and is a guest editor/blogger with Rooftop Comedy.   Former Comic in Residence at the Comedy Studio in Harvard Square, she is also an alumna of Improv Asylum's Mainstage, where she wrote sketch comedy and performed improv and sketch 5 nights a week.  Maria was a featured comedian at the 2009 North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival and New York Comedy Contest, and appears as the headless body and voice of the current Bertucci's TV and web ads.  You can see her onstage at her weekly stand up show, Stand up Sundays, at ImprovBoston in Cambridge, MA, and check out her show schedule at www.mariaciampa.com

Jacob Simon

Picture
Jacob Simon is a standup comedian. Probably the best one in his immediate family. Jacob is also a native Texan. Jacob believes in the second amendment (guns), but only gruffly acknowledges the existence of the eleventh amendment (not guns).

Jacob’s work has been featured on numerous humor websites including collegehumor.com, cracked.com, and this site you are reading right now.

One day, Jacob decided that people didn’t already have enough access to his jerk-off opinions. Hence, Jacob’s humor blog was born (it’s right here! - the cornerofbillspool).

Barring further investigation by the Federal Communications Commission, Jacob will bring you even more nonsensical (re: tragic) hilarity via this very new blog created by Boston comedy veteran, Shawn Carter.

Jacob hopes to do for Unseencomedy.com what Gen. Augusto Pinochet did for Chile. Specifically, use U.S. support for a murderous coup d'état in order to establish a militaristic Junta."

Jenny Zigrino

Picture
Jenny Z has been creating comedy since she was mistakenly conceived during a binge of vodka and Forienger. Some would say her comedic stylings are Sassy, Brassy, and Classy. And by some I mean Jenny Z. Her keen obersvations, adorable wit and explosive stage presence will capture your attention and your heart. She graduated in 2005 with a degree in Film from Massachusetts College of Art and her videos have been seen in film festivals nation wide. Along with being generally awesome, she is also a rising star on the Boston Stand Up Comedy scene - playing all over New England and Midwest. She was featured in the Funny Females Showcase at the Boston Comedy Festival , hosted for the Women in Comedy Festival and recently performed at the Cape Fear Comedy Festival. She took 1st place in the Catch a New Rising Star Competition and was honored to be April 2010's Comic in Residence at the famed Comedy Studio in Cambridge, MA.
She also apart of the Burlesque Troup Rogue Burlesque as the notorious Liz Fang.
Check her website, www.jennyzisnice.com for updated blog, new videos, and an updated schedule.

Dave Kennedy

Picture
Dave Kennedy has been doing comedy for a little over two years which means he started about 10 years after it would have been relevant.  He fancies himself a combination of Louis CK and Dennis Miller (before he went nuts), and audiences agree that he’s a combination of Louis Farrakhan and Dennis DeYoung (before he went nuts.)  Dave recently became a father and has not yet figured out how to do that and anything else except write for several websites and hold down a job that could be done using a mannequin a la Ferris Bueller.  Dave is on hiatus from performing until July 2011, but will return with a Die Hard With a Vengeance-like relevancy.  You can find out more about Dave on Facebook (Facebook.com/lateedge) or on Twitter (@hairlesscomic.)
